How to pass this class, or fail it

If you wish to succeed in this class,

• attend every class meeting
• pay attention in class
• ask questions if you don't understand some point
• spend 5 minutes each night going over the material covered in the latest lecture
• do homework in groups (if this method works for you), and discuss the problems until you understand each one
• contact the instructor and/or your advisor if things aren't going well; do so before the midterm

If you wish to fail this class,

• don't bother showing up
• sleep or doodle during the classes you attend
• be cool -- never show ignorance by asking questions
• study twice per quarter: the night before the midterm, and the night before the final
• don't waste time trying to understand a problem -- just get the answers from the book or a fellow student, and move on to the next one
